Masjid Sultan Abu Bakar, Johor Bahru
The most beautiful mosque in southern Malaysia! Completed in 1900 after eight years of work, this Victorian-Moorish hybrid overlooks the Straits of Johor from a hilltop, blending English colonial architecture with Islamic minarets styled like British clock towers. Whitewashed walls, blue-tiled roofs and manicured lawns make it Johor's most photographed landmark, and it still serves as the state's royal mosque.
